Have you tried loading a .pdf. I had heard complaints about slow rendering, but my page turns are pretty snappy after the initial loading.

Nope, I just loaded 2 up, one a financial analyst report, and the other a graphics intensive brochure, and the render time on both is comparable to the regular ebook rendering. Quite happy with it.
